Why timing matters
A founding queen in a test tube is on a clock you do not control. You want the nest in hand when her first workers come out, not a month later.
The beginner page shows when the tube goes into the Scout. The founding page covers the stage before it.
Nests and parts
We sell nests and parts. We do not sell live ants. Queens are caught by the keeper, from your own area. The catching guide shows how.
Everything here is made in the US. Read About for who is behind it.
If something is wrong
If an item arrives damaged or missing a part, email us with your order number. Returns, damage and missing items are all on the shipping and returns page.
The full list of nests and parts is on the formicarium page. Every piece ships on the same terms.
Where to begin
Most keepers begin with the Scout, $24. If you want the next room too, the Founder, $42, is the one that follows. The size guide explains the order.
